About Marc A. Schumer, MD, FACS
Dr. Schumer graduated Cornell University with a Bachelors degree in 1984. He went to medical school at The University of Vermont College of Medicine and then went on to complete a residency in Urology at Maimonides Medical Center. In addition to his clinical training, he spent a year at Columbia University in a fellowship performing molecular biology research centering on Programmed Cell Death. During that year Dr. Schumer published multiple articles in many scientific journals and presented at national meetings throughout the country. He won second prize in the Ferdinand Valentine New York State Urologic essay contest two years in a row.
He is a board-certified Urologist practicing on the south shore of Long Island. He has served as the Chief of Urology at Brunswick Hospital Center and was the medical director of The Long Island Surgery Center. Dr. Schumer is also on the Urology Board of The Kidney and Urology Foundation and is an original member of Integrated Medical Professionals and has served on its board since the inception of the company.
