Safety Precautions

Our facility is observing the following safety precautions to ensure that we can continue to provide care while minimizing the risk of exposure for our patients and staff.

On June 24, 2020 Governor Cuomo issued the following order regarding travelers arriving in New York from regions with spiking Covid-19 infections rates:

All travelers entering New York from a state with a positive test rate higher than 10 per 100,000 residents, or higher than a 10% test positivity rate, over a seven-day rolling average, will be required to quarantine for a period of 14 days consistent with Department of Health regulations for quarantine.

As a result of the Governor’s order, you will be asked if you have traveled from another state. If you have traveled from a high risk state, we will ask you to re-schedule your appointment to a date which follows the quarantine period.

Since the data changes daily, please consult the NYS Coronavirus website travel advisory for the current affected states:

  • When you arrive at our facility, you will be briefly screened to determine your exposure risk. All patients and visitors will be assessed for fever or new upper respiratory symptoms.
  • Anyone entering our facility will be required to wear a mask covering their nose and mouth.
  • Once you are checked in, you may be asked to wait for your appointment in your car to minimize the number of patients in the waiting rooms.
  • Only individuals necessary for patient mobility or communication will be permitted to enter the facility. Family members will be called into the facility when it is time to escort you home. Discharge instructions will be given at that time.
  • Once you enter the facility, please remain at least 6 feet apart from other patients.
  • If you have questions or need to contact your physician, feel free to phone the facility.

If you believe you have been exposed to COVID-19, the CDC recommends you call your primary health care provider. Do not come into the facility.

Most importantly, please protect yourself by taking the appropriate everyday precautions. The CDC recommends:

  1. Washing your hands frequently with soap and water, especially after you’ve been in a public place, after blowing your nose, coughing, or sneezing.
    • Avoid touching your eyes, nose, or mouth with unwashed hands.
    • If soap and water is not readily available, use a hand sanitizer that contains at least 60% alcohol.
  2. Avoid close contact with other people.
    • Remember that people without symptoms may still be able to spread the virus
  3. Cover your nose and mouth with a cloth face cover when around others.
  4. Clean and disinfect frequently-touched surfaces daily.
    • This includes tables, doorknobs, light switches, handles, desks, keyboards, phones, toilets, faucets, and sinks.
